DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Alexa (Speech) team is a group of developers and scientists working on audio, speech and natural language solutions that revolutionize how customers interact with Amazon’s products and services. The team’s mission is to push the envelope in automatic speech recognition (ASR) in order to provide the best possible experience for our customers. Products such as Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Amazon Tap & Amazon Fire TV are illustrative of the user-delighting spoken language solutions Amazon is building.

We are looking for passionate, hard-working, and talented Software Engineers to help us build a Deep Learning inference (runtime) engine that powers the next generation of Alexa. If you are a Software Engineer with a strong aptitude or interest in Machine Learning, looking to make a large impact on building cutting edge platforms, this position is for you.

In this position, you will
· Research, design, and develop software for running Deep Learning models including core libraries supporting low-latency inference, optimized runtime kernels, research-to-production toolchains, and testing/benchmarking infrastructure
· Work together with Research Scientists to design and deploy high quality Deep Learning models to production on both cloud-based Alexa services and Alexa-enabled devices
· Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software against aggressive schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· MS in Computer Science
· Advanced knowledge in C++
· Experience in Machine Learning and Deep Learning
· Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
· Experience in working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with conflicting priorities.
· Demonstrated ability to mentor other software developers and provide technical vision.

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
· Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
· 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
· Strong experience in modern C++
