DESCRIPTION

Do you love to write code, have a technical background and enjoy solving complex problems? If so, working on the Loss Prevention (LP) team as an LP Engineer is the place for you!
The Loss Prevention LEAP team builds web platforms to support loss prevention investigations through reporting, analytics and operational tools. This role directly supports our AMER Investigations Team. Our goal is to develop systems, web interfaces, reporting, metrics and analytics that drive investigations through trend analysis and automation.

As a Loss Prevention Investigations Engineer, your job is to:
· Design, develop and maintain software platforms
· Perform root cause analysis on complex problems covering a range of LP services
· Work directly with LP Investigations customers to understand problems and resolve requests for feature enhancements (development/build enhancements or improvements)
· Work alongside other technical teams, including engineers, analysts and cross-functional groups
· Develop end-to-end architecture of small to medium engineering projects with supervision.
· Troubleshoot and respond to errors, bug fixes and issue tickets
· Software Development
· Ensure all programs comply with Amazon InfoSec standards

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, negotiate, resolve problems, and develop relationships at all levels of the organization
· Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source management, testing, and operations.
· Ability to work independently with limited direction, communicate effectively with team members in other geographic locations
· Ability to take calculated risks and challenge current practices to develop and deliver innovative solutions to meet or exceed the customer expectations
· Interest in Loss Prevention, physical security or investigations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 1-2 years’ experience with HTML, Ruby on Rails (or Python), JavaScript
· Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of work experience as a junior engineer (internships are acceptable)
· 2 or more years of experience with databases (querying and analyzing) such as SQL, MYSQL, Access, Exception Based Reporting, etc. and experience using analytics to report and provide visibility to trends
