DESCRIPTION

PillPack is an independently operated subsidiary of Amazon, acquired in 2018. Our mission is to deliver the right medications to our customers at the right times without the complexity and frustration of the traditional healthcare system. We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our growing IT team. You'll help drive our IT project roadmap and deliver scalable systems and configurations that grow with our business.

Responsibilities Include:
- Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks
- Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting and enforcing system standards
- Install, configure and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, firewalls, DNS and DHCP
- Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with Amazon network architects on network optimization
- Undertake data network fault investigations and remediation in local and wide area environments
- Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations
- Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects
- Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases
- Provide remote support of on-site engineers and end users/customers
- Perform capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within Fulfillment Centers
- Liaison with Amazon InfoSec to address network vulnerabilities and security gaps
- Procure network equipment and manage subcontractors involved with network installations
- Develop appropriate metrics to demonstrate performance at improving operational efficiencies
- Participate in rotating on-call coverage for nights and weekends to provide 24-hour support

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in IT, System Engineering, Computer Science, or requisite experience
- 5+ years relevant work experience
- Solid understanding of both traditional and cloud networking and network services (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, Routing protocols BGP and OSPF, VLANs, VPN, LDAP/Active Directory)
- Experience in designing and building out LAN/WAN networks with depth in managing routers, firewalls, and switches with a comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure solutions, administration, configuration, procurement and deployment (physical NOC, cloud, etc.)
- Solid understanding of any network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS, Palo Alto)
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills with a focus on rapport-building
