Our team creates software solutions that enable Vendors and Sellers to build and grow their business. We do this by collaborating with hundred’s of teams across Amazon that includes disciplines from User Experience, Product Management, Software Development, Machine Learning, Economics, and Analytics to curate an experience that informs and guides Vendors and Sellers. We listen to our customers and make decisions based on their feedback.

As an Amazon Front End Engineer, you will take ownership of projects that drive customer experience by developing solutions that may include existing, emerging, or AWS technologies. You should expect to build stable, responsive, secure, accessible cross-platform customer experiences using appropriate design patterns using your expertise in front-end engineering. Successful candidates must also be innovative, flexible, self-directed, and able to design and write high-performance, reliable, maintainable code. This role requires the ability to creatively deal with ambiguity and be data-driven.

As a member of the team, you will:
· Work closely with the product team and other teams across Amazon to deliver on the team’s technical vision
· Influence technical strategy to build products Vendors and Sellers will love
· Drive team discussions on system architecture and component design
· Lead development and launch of core features and products
· Participate in all stages of the software development cycle, including design and development of significant new architectures and features
· Participate in estimation and sprint planning
· Mentor junior team members

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experienced in JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React, StencilJS, and Java.
• Self-directed, demonstrate leadership potential and a team player
• Proficiency in testing front-end applications and automated browser testing
• Experience with AWS technologies such as Lambda and S3
• Practical experience with engineering best practices
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices.
• Ability to work in a fast paced and agile development environment
• Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency and drive
• Passion for developing products which provide a great customer experience

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of 2 years’ industry experience as a software development engineer, web development engineer, front end engineer or similar
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities
• Experience building web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks
• Actively practicing professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life-cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
