AWS Finance seeks a world-class Financial Analyst to be a key member in its team supporting the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) business. Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) is a web service that provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud. This position will develop and improve financial models to aid in decision making for EC2 with a focus on costs. Based on the understanding of the economics of the cloud computing business, this role will support setting of internal cost rates through robust models of the service's marginal and average costs. Additional responsibilities include improving cost assignment processes to appropriately reflect infrastructure costs in all AWS services' P&Ls and driving performance improvement initiatives and mechanisms.

This position will work closely with finance management as well as key business partners across Amazon, including other AWS products, Product Management, Engineering, Supply Chain and Capacity Management to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership in the EC2 businesses.
This role requires a self-starter and independent individual with strong financial modeling abilities, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations. This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong people skills.

Key responsibilities:
· Serve as the key finance partner working directly with AWS senior management and other internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations
· Develop new costing methodologies and build models to forecast unit rates.
· Drive projects to implement new financial processes across all AWS services and work with Finance and Tech teams to identify and remove obstacles.
· Develop new processes and bridging tools to improve transparency in gross unit cost rates, partnering with Infrastructure Finance teams and FP&A Finance teams.
· Build complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance and work with Tech teams to drive automation,
· Understand hardware generational changes and general business economics to develop financial models.
· Develop ad hoc business analysis and present recommendations to AWS senior management
· Implement long-term forecasting models.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science) or equivalent and a minimum 3 years of experience in finance or a related analytical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
