DESCRIPTION

Amazon has successfully built a large and growing marketplace in India focused on meeting the Indian consumers' needs. In order to deliver greater value to our customers, Amazon would like to develop and sell an exclusive range of Private Label brands and products across categories. The Amazon Softlines team is looking for a talented, smart, experienced and entrepreneurial Fashion Designer - Women's Apparel & Accessories to help us build a truly exceptional private label women's apparel business.

Joining the Amazon Softlines team means partnering with a dynamic and creative group that sets a high bar for innovation and success in a fast-paced and changing environment. This role will be responsible for managing design & product development for Women's Apparel & Accessories, building relationships with vendors/manufacturers, driving incremental selection in the apparel, shoes and accessories stores, and working with stakeholder teams to deliver best-in-class customer experience that will result in category leadership in the online market segment.

We expect the Fashion Designer - Women's Apparel & Accessories to be a passionate customer and category advocate within Amazon, with proven design & product development capabilities and project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task. The candidate must be an effective leader and communicator in working with some of Amazon's most important partners and vendors, as well as with internal cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for Retail, have a deep understanding of industry trends and demonstrate a high level of ownership and customer obsession.

The candidate must:
· Act as the ‘business owner' for his or her categories, possessing an understanding of internal and external variables that impact our business (this entails owning trend forecasting, understanding market gaps, opportunities & competition, understanding of all technical aspects of product development on their assigned category/categories, along with responsibility for driving strategic projects to achieve business objectives)
· Have a thorough understanding of the industry, seasonality and global trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments
· Maximize Amazon's selection & impact long-term business profitability
· Have a complete understanding of the customer needs, both existing and potential, and use that knowledge to deliver products that provide Amazon customers with an unparalleled shopping experience
· Coordinate with cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external parties, while meeting tight deadlines

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's diploma/degree in Fashion Design
· Minimum 5 years of experience - with exposure to retail/exports
· Must have experience in apparel design in women's western wear
· Proficiency in design apps like Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Draw
· Minimum 5 years of experience independently managing product design for a range of kid's fashion sub-categories
