Our team is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineer to work on system design, implementation, and release to manufacturing. Run with the spirit and energy of a start-up, Alexa Gadgets is focused on leveraging emerging technologies (Alexa voice recognition, IoT, etc.) to create new product opportunities that increase engagement and extend the reach of Alexa. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system design, analog and digital circuit design, industrial controls, functional safety, possess good communication skills, and enjoy problem solving both independently and in team settings. Further, this candidate should be familiar with the associated hours, deadlines and high-energy culture that go with launching innovative new products.

As a member of the team you will be responsible for leading the development and launch of core product features. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.

Key Responsibilities include:
· Work with cross functional teams (including electrical, mechanical, firmware, driver, and other software teams) to execute product designs from concept to production including design, prototyping, validation, testing, manufacturing and certification
· Thorough understanding of technical principles and concepts in electrical engineering
· Architecting, designing and implementing complex systems including firmware, analog and digital circuit design, and systems debugging
· Writing and developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
· Supporting product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments
· Dive into and take ownership for critical design issues
· Design & schematic capture of digital and some analog electrical circuits and systems
· Manage and review product PCB layout
· Debug and support/create prototype design development

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· MS Electrical Engineering or similar field
· Expert in schematic entry, layout tools and design for manufacturability (familiarity with PADS a plus)
· Proven track record of developing electronics throughout product cycle: from Requirements negotiation, to Architecture definition, Design, Production, and Support
· Experience developing electronics using SOC’s, microcontrollers, microprocessors (ARM), FPGA’s
· Power supply and some analog electrical design
· Working knowledge of Signal Integrity and Power Integrity
· Strong working knowledge of best practices for PCB layout and construction
· Experience in taking designs through manufacturing
· Ability to perform simple mechanical assembly for quick prototypes
· Ability to read and understand schematics
· Familiar with debugging tools such as an oscilloscope, DMM and logic analyzers
· Experience with bring-up, debug, and validation of digital designs
· Experience with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters
· Understanding of optics/sensor/image pipeline & how camera fits into system architecture
· Demonstrated strong ability to move seamlessly between levels of abstraction - from system to the "nuts and bolts" implementation
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
