DESCRIPTION

Amazon seeks an exceptional data engineer to join the WW Ops Robotics organization to partner with our product development, deployment, and finance teams. WW Ops Robotics is responsible for the development of global automation to improve the safety and productivity of our fulfillment operations. We design and develop robotic and mechatronic solutions that can be back-built into existing buildings and incorporated into the designs of next generation buildings bringing automation to packing, picking, stowing, and more.

Our team develops and maintains datasets which are considered to be the “single source of truth” for WW Ops Robotics. We support a variety of datasets, tools, and reports used by senior leadership to drive the business. This role will contribute to the architecture, design, and implementation of next generation business intelligence solutions. This role will focus on:
· Managing AWS resources including EC2, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, EMR, Lambda, etc.
· Collaborating with data scientists, business intelligence engineers, and business analysts to deliver high-quality data architecture and pipelines
· Interfacing with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources
· Continually improving ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers
· Contributing to the development of our consolidated and optimized datasets
· Developing new analytical platforms to support in-depth analyses of business performance
There will be opportunities to utilize emerging technologies such as Redshift, EDX and Dataforge, as well as EMR and other Big Data solutions. The successful candidate will have strong technical acumen and experience in report development, strong SQL and ETL experience, strong communication skills, with an ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related field
· Strong experience with Redshift and Oracle
· Demonstrated ability in ETL development, and writing and tuning SQL scripts
· Experience in Python, or other scripting language
· Solid communication skills and team player
· Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize workload
· Familiarity with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, and S3
