DESCRIPTION

Amazon Books Team is looking for a talented data engineer who is customer focussed and has strong expertise to build enterprise scale analytics datamarts. In this role, you will deliver world class data infrastructure for global books, print and digital. You will work with product managers, BI managers and business leaders to help define the data product vision and will work closely with high performing data engineers.

The artifacts you deliver will enable Amazon to strategize and redefine books reading experiences across digital and print formats.An ideal individual is someone who has deep traditional data engineering skills around ETL, data modeling, and database architecture, combined with the ability to architect and visualize products and infrastructures in the big data space.

You have strong business judgement, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and are comfortable working with business leaders at all levels, including senior management.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of experience as a Data or BI Engineer dealing with large complex data scenarios.
· Demonstrated ability in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
· Data Warehousing experience with any database like Oracle, Redshift, Teradata, etc.
· Hands on in using SQL & Query performance tuning skills.
· Coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Ruby, Java, etc)
· Experience in large-scale data warehousing projects using AWS technologies (Redshift, S3, EMR )
