Description of the job

We are looking for an F&DT Stress Engineer, based on the Saint-Martin site in Toulouse, to join the rapidly expanding team of Structures Engineering - Specific Design of Nose, Forward Fuselage & Centre Wing Box, and Doors & Mechanisms, whose mission is to develop, deliver and sustain the best-selling Airbus aircraft of all time.

To Develop – innovation is in our blood (and also our structures, engines, cabin, cockpit, and systems!). With our new technologies we are driving the next generation of commercial airliners with social and environmental responsibility – and iconic Airspace styling.

To Deliver – Every 7 hours, an A320 Family aircraft leaves one of the four Final Assembly Lines around the world. We are continually updating our design and modernizing our support to production to enable this amazing feat.

To Sustain – Our delivered A320s have a big operational reliability. Through our perpetual ambition in design and in-service support, we can ensure that our aircraft can stay in the air and move people all over the world in the safest way possible.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your activities will range from daily support to Major Modifications and Development activities, not to forget our Agile Sprint projects.
The type of work will be linked to your capability and development path and balanced with customer needs.

You should be prepared to try new ways of working, reinforcing our core values of Team work, Customer Focus, Reliability, Respect, and Creativity.

As a successful candidate you will work on the analysis, justification and certification of all structures and mechanisms, whilst supporting system installation requests.
In this frame, you will be technically in charge to define the Fatigue & Damage Tolerance potentials of our structure, propose some design updates, define the maintenance program of our aircrafts and support customers in its implementation.

In addition, we develop multi skills approach between Design and Stress, fatigue and static, for metallic structures.

You will have the following tasks and accountabilities:

·  Ensure the safe operation of Airbus aircraft with respect to structural integrity.
·  Perform and provide technical guidance for structure Stress Fatigue & Damage Tolerance.
·  Provide technical leadership and approval for structure Stress Fatigue & Damage Tolerance in order to produce optimized engineering solutions.
·  Steer activities in terms of Cost, Time & Quality.
·  Interface and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
·  Provide support to our internal customers: Manufacturing, Customer Services, Programs,…
·  Coordinate different Stress & Design teams to fulfil Airworthiness requirements.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to an Engineering Degree or equivalent in Structure Engineering or a related discipline.
·  Previous experience in aircraft Structure Stress Fatigue & Damage Tolerance and Airbus methods and tools.
·  Experience with Airbus structure design tools (CATIAV5) and Aircraft configuration management rules would be a plus.
·  Good standing in front of the internal/external customers.
·  Short term adaptation on fast changing and demanding environment.
·  Autonomy with ability to deal with multiple topics at the same time.
·  High level of communication and team work.
