As part of a school curriculum in initial training , you are looking for a mandatory internship or integrated into a gap year that will allow you to validate your studies. The internship duration is 4 to 6 months maximum .

We are looking for an aeronautical engineer (m/f) who will be joining us at Airbus site in Toulouse – Saint Martin .

This internship is to be filled from February 2020 (the dates are subject to a certain flexibility)

You will be joining the department « Ice Protection Systems» which activities include the design and the continuous support of ice protection systems for wing and engine nacelle.

The objective of the internship is improve the wing ice protection model which is used by our system designers.

You will be working under the supervision of your manager who will help you identify your professional objectives and support you in the development of your skills.

Your main activities will include:

- To review and improve, if deemed necessary, the wing anti ice models (pneumatic and heat balance)

- To explore alternative simulation models to represent the pneumatic system (heat source for anti-ice) and the heat flow into the wing slat cavity

- To evaluate model based solutions for electrical heating of the wing slats

- To assess various solutions to provide a flexible and multi-physics platform to connect icing models with various heat sources models (pneumatic or electrical)

- To find synergies with the engine nacelle anti ice model and propose if possible single model platform

You are preparing a diploma level Bac+ 5 in aeronautics or computer science or equivalent, with basic knowledge in Fluid & Hydromechanics, or Thermal and you obtain following competences:

- English: ADVANCED

- French: ADVANCED

- You are interested in icing phenomena on aircraft, scientific computation and physical models.

- You have a good knowledge of programming (FORTRAN) language and simulation tools (such as Simulink)

- You are rigorous, curious and autonomous

- You have good interpersonal and communication skills

- You are able to integrate into a team and be a flexible team player

- You have organizational skills

- You are able to analyze and synthesize information

Depending on the specifics of the offer, you may have to travel to another locations.
