Description of the job:
The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of
Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work
experience abroad in a technical or business function.
The role is based in the Quality Engineering function at the Airbus wing manufacturing plant at Broughton, UK. The role will
support the analysis and delivery of quality improvements to the wing product, and to the industrial suysytem which produces it.
The factory produces more than 800 wingsets/year, all exported to France, Germany or USA.
The role will be accountable to the local quality manager for identifying, developing and deploying quality improvements. It will
accelerate the adoption of new technologies, notably the exploitation of digital tools for the team of trans-national Quality
engineers.
Following a suitable induction period, and training in the Airbus Operating System, the role holder will be expected to work in a
multi-functional team to:
¤ Analsyse of product quality data, to identify and prioritise improvement opportunities;
¤ Deploy problem solving techniques to determine the Root Cause of issues and propose pragmatic means to resolve these;
¤ Support the development of engineering tools and processes to improve the efficiency of quality engineering analysis;
¤ Support the introduction of new technologies for tracking and tracing tooling within the factory.
¤ Support project work with the Airbus internal customers from the aircraft final assembly lines in Toulouse, Hamburg, and
Mobile.
The deliverables expected will be
¤ Project plan for VIE placement, with agreed objectives and regular progress reporting
¤ Qualiy Project outcomes
- dependant upon the specifics of the selected projects
o Project reports; Software/ Apps ; New ways of working
¤ Contribution to technical reports, highlighting Product Quality improvements on specific aircraft types
¤ At least one public presentation or paper at the end of the assignment
Tasks:
You will:

You will report to the local quality manager for identifying, developing and deploying quality improvements. Accelerating the use

Skills:
You will need to demonstrate the following skills/attributes/knowledge:
¤ Engineering graduate
- other degree backgrounds are welcome alongside relevant work experience
¤ English language written and oral skills
¤ Essential
- Working knowledge of IT office tools (eg Ms Office/Google Suite)
¤ Programming skills to support data analysis ( eg Python, SQL)
¤ Positive attitude and willing learner
