Job Description

What if YOU starts your journey with US!

As part of a school curriculum in initial training , you are looking for a mandatory internship or integrated into a gap year , that will allow you to validate your studies. The internship duration is 4 to 6 months maximum.

We offer you to work in a world-leading company which is at the heart of a digital transformation, at the cutting edge of research and innovation.

We are looking for a Thermomechanical simulation of materials and structures at high temperatures (m/f) who will be joining us at Airbus site in Toulouse.

This internship is to be filled from Q1 2020 (the dates are subject to a certain flexibility)

The increasing use of composite materials in air and space transport applications, mechanical and dynamic helicopter parts, civil and military launchers have changed the requirements and constraints they must meet.

Thus, today, composites are required to work in engine areas with or without mechanical loading.

Currently research is focused on materials that can be suitable for the temperature range 200°C - 300°C. On the other hand, ageing cycles are flat-rate and often with decoupled environments, which limits their research.

We propose in this internship to develop a coupled model of thermoxidation with mechanical loading with the support of Abaqus and Samcef user routines.

A cycle representative of the hot zone to be studied will be defined that will allow us to make more real predictions of the deformation field at the scale of the representative specimen.

The Comptinn test method developed by ENSMA P' will also make it possible to experimentally validate the simulated deformation field over several cycles.

This internship will be part of the Impekkable project with a link to the ENSMA P' test laboratory.

·  Tasks and Responsibilities :

You will be working under the supervision of your manager who will help you identify your professional objectives and support you in the development of your skills.

Your main activities will include:

- Definition of composite Technologies strategy, principles and concepts,

- Development and harmonization of mature and robust materials and process specifications for Composite Technology,

- Deliver Material and Manufacturing Process Selection List and Standard selection list,

- Deliver for design engineering Composite material and process data,

- Definition and validation of manufacturing process simulation tools to ensure correct mature materials and manufacturing,

- Ensure robust part certification process by First Part Qualifications when developing Composite Technology,

- Ensure EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) regulations incl. REACh, principles and concepts of eco-efficient materials & processes,

- Provide expertise support for engineering, manufacturing and in-service issues on composite parts and processes.

·  Required skills :

You are preparing a diploma level Bac+5 , in material and simulation field, with specialisation in composites and you obtain following competences:

- English: ADVANCE

- French: INTERMEDIATE

- Your first experience.in material and simulation (informatics language) research

- You are interested in long-term behaviour of composite.

- You have a good knowledge of composites materials

- You are able to use proficiently such tools as SAMCEF (and ABAQUS) and Fortran informatics language

The student will be in IMPEKKABLE ANR project environment with exchange with ENSMA P’ laboratory. Some days could be taken on this laboratory.

·  Soft skills:

- Curious and autonomous

- Obtain good interpersonal and communication skills
