Description of the job :
The Airbus Demonstrators department reporting to the Chief Technology Office (CTO) is looking for an Overall Engine Design Architect, as part of the development of a first demonstrator dealing with electrical propulsion to be flight tested. This position will be based in Toulouse.

The Airbus Exponential Organization (ExO) core principles are: highly adaptable to changing conditions / requirements / schedules, positive minded in front of obstacles to overcome them, ready to be accountable for your package of work, flexible in front of evolving scope of work, highly connected to the rest of team members.

You will work as part of a close-knit team to develop and integrate complex system control software into an experimental test rig dealing with new electrical sources.

The position is offered within Airbus ExO conditions and salary policy.

Task & accountabilities :
Your key initial responsibility

You are in charge of the overall design of this first Electrical Engine prototype. As overall architect, you translate and cascade the top level requirements into meaningful set of requirements applicable to each major engine component, lead the design trades aiming at defining the overall engine configuration, establish the interfaces between major components including the structural parts, validates the design proposed at component level taking into account the integration of all the elements, verify with the adequate means the performance and compliance of the final design solution to the top level requirements through dedicated ground and flight test campaigns.

Required skills :
Your key competences:

• Experience in power generation systems’ components overall design and integration, preferably in propelled propulsion systems
• Thermal management of highly integrated systems
• Experience in requirements based engineering
• Knowledge on safety analysis methods
• Good communication skills
• Positive and forward thinking, despite the number of obstacles in face
• Knowledge on electrical motors and inverters will be appreciated
