Job Description

We are looking for a Level 1 NOC Service Engineer to join our busy team based in Airbus Defence & Space Secure Communications in Newport, South Wales.

Reporting directly to the NOC Team Lead you will manage the daily telephone calls, emails, alerts and standard changes that come into the CSOC and be first point on contact for our communications within the service delivery area to support live service and the implementation of design change.

You will engage partners internally and externally with emphasis on frequent and regular engagement with technical peers, managers and customers across ATLAS/Commercial Projects.

You will operate within the Service Desk and escalation path and will manage multiple Service Desk elements so, it is essential that communication is fluent and can influence the decision-making process to achieve the desired goals. This includes resources, expectations, perceptions and propagation of knowledge.

Responsibilities

·  You will take ownership of user problems and provide updates to internal and external customers
·  You will monitor the phones and answer in agreed timescales based on project requirements, log all calls on the call logging system and maintain full documentation
·  You will monitor email inboxes and action any that come in by creating a ticket in the appropriate toolset
·  You will monitor queues within the tools sets to ensure tickets are to date and do not breach SLA
·  You will monitor NOC NMS and acknowledge / action alerts depending on fault condition
·  You will support the Network Operations Centre as needed by the service contract and our needs

Experience

·  Familiarity with Microsoft based operating systems
·  Knowledge of Ticketing Systems
·  Basic understanding of PC hardware set-up and configuration
·  Excellent telephone manner and report writing
