Job Description

The Finance NextGen Programme is an Airbus Defence & Space-wide development Programme.

This programme is designed to identify and develop talented Leaders for the Airbus Finance Community who will contribute significantly towards achieving our business goals. The Finance NextGen Programme - sponsored by Airbus Defence & Space' CFO - enables its participants to enhance financial know-how and expertise, combined with further learning in management and leadership competencies.

The mission of the programme:

·  Fostering and deepening participants’ financial knowledge and expertise on the Airbus world of Finance, enlarging the scope to the international financial context
·  Linking formal learning with rotating, real-business project assignments
·  Increasing participants’ project management and leadership competencies
·  Encouraging networking, job shadowing, mobility and cross-cultural experiences
·  Mentorship from a member of the Finance Top Management
·  Invitation to the Airbus Defence & Space Finance Conference

This Program consists of two assignments in two different countries. Each assignment lasts for a period of two years. They are combined with off-the-job modules, designed to strengthen participant’s management and financial competencies.

In the Frame of the assignment the candidate will work together with Training and Flight Operations Programme (TAST) as their Programme Controller.

The main tasks are:

·  Manages programme profit & loss for the full TAST Perimeter including Programme directorates (Target drones and Simulation Manching) and Subsidaries (AvDef, AFAE and GFD)
·  Provides quantitative and qualitative data to support discussions and decision making at Management level.
·  Provides performance against budgets/targets highlighting discrepancies and propose mitigation actions if needed.
·  Challenges and supports business partner for all directorates in terms of financial and operational performance improvement.
·  Steers the contributors through convergence processes resulting in target setting
·  Contributes to cash planning (Pre Deliveries/Advance Payments, European Technology Initiatives, CAPEX, inventory, supplier spend planning)
·  For development programs monitors program through Earned Value Management, together with business stakeholders Supports proposals & commercial deals
·  Provides quantitative and qualitative financial data to prepare business case proposals
·  Validates the consistency of financial content and financial risk exposure in the proposal and establish the Business Case.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  University / Business School Degree in finance, business, mathematics or sciences
·  Ability to think analytically is important for this financial role
·  Some experience in a comparable role desired - international experience desired
·  High proficiency with MS Excel. Highly numerate and computer literate. Financially aware with high business partnering acumen
·  Critical thinking & ability to constructively challenge the operational business
·  Excellent team working skills
·  Good communication skills — an ability to make finance important to non-finance people and to make complex issues understandable
·  Demonstration of a strong work ethic is essential
·  Hobbies and/or extra curricular activities demonstrating teamwork / entrepreneurial spirit / digital would be an advantageous
·  Mindset/ global business awareness would be advantageous
·  Language: English negotiation level
