Then join our Engine Integration Research & Technology (R&T) team in Toulouse!!!

A vacancy for a Metal Structure Designer for Airframe R&T Demonstrator (m/f) has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse.

Our portfolio considers technologies and concepts targeting Airbus aircraft future programs.

Our objective is the technology leadership for airframe based on a wide Engineering knowledge and experience in developing innovative solutions and working in a dynamic agile way in multidisciplinary and transnational teams.

To achieve this goal, the developed technologies will be demonstrated through big demonstration projects.

You will work for these demonstrator projects in the frame of R&T projects focusing on the long-term objective of Airbus of a low-emission flight. In this context, you will be part of a scaled agile framework organization.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include

·  Structure design activities for demonstrator (using mainly metallic parts) from PDR to full design release for manufacturing.
·  Contribution to design trades for the demonstrator as well as the design work for the definition dossier and manufacturing and assembly support. It is intended to use new design tools and methods

The successful candidat will be Metal structure designer, which will demonstrate:

- Robust technical background on metallic structure design (Structural concepts elaboration)

- Autonomous on CAD Tools (CATIA v5/V6) and Microsoft office applications

- Design of innovative structures for metallic components, including pre-sizing activities to assess viability of concepts

- Integrate multidisciplinary constraints, develop physical integration and share feedback of structural feasibility vs requirements

- Participate to feasibility dossier and trade off studies to select best solution, including maturity evaluation

- Ability to develop, in close cooperation with manufacturing, innovative solutions

- Ensure the detailed definition of physical demonstrators to validate selected concepts

- Involvement in transnational R&T organization, especially interface with potential supplier/partners for common R&T projects

- Problem solving oriented mindset

- Team spirit and good communication skills

This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to a 5 years’ degree in Engineering,
·  At least 5 years’ experience in Engineering
·  Very experienced in CATIA V5,
·  Some experience in 3DX beneficial
·  Design experience in primary metal structure required
·  Design experience in system installation beneficial
·  Some pylon background beneficial
·  Open minded spirit and Problem solving oriented mindset,
·  Demonstrated innovation spirit and flexibility in the way of thinking
·  Curious, attracted by new technologies,
·  Good communication skills,
·  Team spirit,
·  French at negotiation level, English at advance level.
