Airbus Cyber Security is a European specialist in cyber security. Our mission is to protect governments, military and essential national infrastructure enterprises from cyber threats.

We are over 700 experts based across our main locations in France, Germany and the UK, each with a Security Operating Centre, we also operate in the US and the Middle East.

We provide a global cyber defence approach that aims to protect, detect and respond to cyber threats with a portfolio including managed security services, industrial control system offerings, encryption, key management and consultancy services.

Description of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Test Engineer (Verification and Validation) within Airbus Cyber Security in Newport, South Wales.

As the successful Test Engineer, you will design and implement test cases to demonstrate suitability of complex products or systems for the Cyber Security market place. You will perform allocated Test Environment Work Packages within the agreed cost, time and quality constraints reporting directly to the Test Manager.

Tasks and Accountabilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

The Test Engineer specifies, performs, and documents tests for allocated elements of the product test strategy, by:

·  Perform in-house or external testing for complex Cryptographic and Key Management Systems.
·  Document the tests and test results for allocated responsibilities
·  You will produce specifications, procedures, schedules and reports, demonstrating appropriate test coverage.
·  You will use appropriate tools and techniques to integrate, qualify, verify, validate and accept equipment to Airbus Defence & Space standards and to customer specifications.

We are looking for candidates with the following experience (including proficiency):

Essential Experience:

·  Have experience of formal Verification and Validation of complex electronic equipment and supporting software applications
·  Familiar with test and integration methods for software and hardware product development
·  Perform Verification and Validation tasks of up to three months duration with only limited management

Essential Skills

·  TCP/IP network configuration and test
·  Cryptographic Key Management and Distribution Systems
·  Secure Communications Systems
·  Secure Cryptographic Communications Network Devices

Desirable Skills

·  Experience and working knowledge of some or all of the following:
·  Automated Test Experience
·  Integration/test of database systems (e.g. Oracle/SQL)
·  Test script/software development (Windows and Unix environments)
·  Black box software testing
·  EMC, Safety, Environmental, TEMPEST qualification testing
·  ISTQB Software Test qualified to at least Foundation Certificate standard
·  CCNA standard experience and working knowledge of network configuration and operation
