Location: Ottobrunn/Munich

Start: March/April 2020

Duration: 6 months

You will write your thesis in the department  TSPCEO - On-board hardware electronics  and data processing.

We specialize in the development of On-board FPGA/ASIC logic and processor solutions for satellite subsystems and on-board scientific instruments..

Your exciting topic

·  Design of the motor control activities for the manoeuvring of the rover with a given up
·  Evaluating / Improving the existing image processing algorithm based on the images obtained from the embarked camera, especially considering what difficulties might appear wrt. the same implementation in Matlab or C/C++
·  Perform all steps to implement and test the motion control algorithms into the on-board processors (in C or C++) and High Performance Data Processor (HPDP) and analyse results (image compression rate/data reduction, image SNR)
·  Optimise the image based navigation algorithms for the array processor architecture (called “High Performance Data Processor”, HPDP)
·  Documentation of all the evaluation, implementation, various analysis and test results

     

You offer

·  Enrolled student (d/f/m) within Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences or similar field of study
·  Experience in C, C++, MATLAB / Simulink
·  Experience within Signal processing, motor control, robotics
·  Negotiation level of English and German

You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
