Location: Manching

Start: January 2020

Duration: 6 months

Tasks:

Internship by Materials & Processes - Setup of a relevant accelerated corrosion test for military aircrafts

Long term corrosion prediction under atmospheric conditions is a major topic for the aerospace industry.
One difficulty on this task is the lack of robust and reliable corrosion tests in this field. There is no representative test for in-service conditions.
In this context, the first step was the determination of in-service relevant parameters for the creation of an accelerated corrosion test and now it is time to setup it.

The internship will consist of the following tasks:
- Setting up a reliable cyclic corrosion test according the in-service conditions and parameters
- Analyzing the facilities availability within and outside Airbus Group
- Determining the relevant surface protections for testing according to the new environmental constraints
- Managing a test campaign

Qualifications:

You offer:

- Enrolled student within Material Science or similar field of study

- First Experience within Material Science

- Scientific way of working, team player, reliable Knowledge in corrosion and corrosion protection

- English: negotiation level

- German: basic level

You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
