Our UK Graduate Programme provides exceptional graduates the opportunity to master managerial and technical skills. Over the two year period it combines rotational placements with focused training and the possibility of European assignments as well as further personal development and the chance to build your professional network.

From day one, you will be assigned to a particular department and will be guided through the various placement opportunities that exist within your function, the wider business and even with customers and suppliers. This, along with training provided works to ensure you are ready and experienced enough to take the next step of your career following the programme's conclusion.

The Airbus Defence and Space Communications Products Department designs, develops, manufactures and tests equipment for use on board Telecommunications and Navigation spacecraft.  Our engineers apply their skills to realise highly complex and compact systems covering RF and Microwave circuits.   We span the interface between the analogue and digital domains to realise front end receivers, frequency converters and Solid State Power amplifiers.

Payload equipments are extremely reliable and efficient needing to operate in the harsh environment of space to provide continuous services for people and businesses anywhere on Earth and beyond. To help us deliver cost effective equipment solutions we need people with Knowledge or interest in mixed signal technologies, GHz speed circuits, GaN, SiGe-BICMOS technologies, as well as CAD skills with ADS and hands on RF/Microwave testing.

Tasks

Working in the RF / Microwave electronics design team, the main activities of the role may include;

·  Supporting lead engineers on development programmes, including parts evaluation and preparing and carrying out laboratory testing.
·  Producing own circuit designs
·  Supporting product manufacture and product development activities.
·  Creating and validating designs, overseeing manufacturing and creating documentation and reports.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

·  At minimum, a 2:1 degree or equivalent qualification in Physics, Electronics or related subject.
·  Knowledge of RF and microwave is advantageous.
·  A mathematical background.
·  Excellent team working skills.
·  Good written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
·  Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Excel.
·  Experience of using Agilent ADS is advantageous.

The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs.

This role will be based in Portsmouth and will receive the full Airbus Defence & Space Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
