Job Description

In our department we will develop software for safety critical avionic systems for AIRBUS airplanes (e.g. ARIBUS A400M). Our

team is multinational and spread around several AIRBUS sites in France, Spain and Germany. You may have the opportunity to

visit and integrate on the aircrafts or simulators. We are dealing with the highest safety level (DAL A , DPAL 1).

Amongst others, we are developing terrain avoidance and warning systems, which use complex mathematical algorithm and

terrain databases and represent the terrain and hazardous level graphically to the pilots.

You will support the selection of the new hardware and software, by supporting the market analysis and the technical reviews in

scope of graphic hardware, 3D engines and middleware for embedded systems. To support that, also prototypes need to be

developed to try and evaluate concepts and decisions. One major aspect to be considered is the certification approach and

ability.

In your internship you will get also an insight, what are the processes to be followed to get such systems certified by the

aeronautical authorities.

Your tasks:

·  Market, technical analysis, review of available graphic Hardware and 3D engines and middleware for embedded systems
·  Criteria's and Selection of graphic hardware, 3D engine and middleware for target avionic application
·  Development of prototype of target avionic application
·  Creation of final reports an presentations
 

Your qualifications:

·  Enrolled student in computer science, information technology, game programming, software engineering or similar fields of study
·  Classical Computer Science (Basics, C/C++, Software Design, Application Programming)
·  3D graphics programming/ visualization (DirectX/ OpenGL, shader programming, rendering algorithm, middleware (3D engines, game engines))
·  You like to bring in knowledge about the latest graphics hardware, 3D engines and Middleware
·  You enjoy trying out new concepts and developing prototypes
·  German: fluent
·  English: advanced
