As part of a school curriculum in initial training , you are looking for a mandatory internship or integrated into a gap year , that will allow you to validate your studies. The internship duration is 4 to 6 months maximum .

We are looking for 4D trajectory benefits assessment (m/f) who will be joining us at Airbus site in Saint Martin de Touch , in Toulouse.

This internship is to be filled from April 1st 2020 (the dates are subject to a certain flexibility)

You will be joining the department « IYIB : Multi program Project (MPP) & ATM » which activities include to create added-value for Airbus & the Airlines, by identifying, launching, and developing innovative Multi-Programme Projects and Air Traffic Management projects , integrated into our aircraft and the global air transport system

The objective of the internship is to identify air traffic management wastes and assess the benefits generated by the 4D trajectory solution

You will be working under the supervision of your manager who will help you identify your professional objectives and support you in the development of your skills.

Your main activities will include:

·  The evaluation of the benefits of the aicraft 4D function for Air traffic management

The trainee will evaluate the ATM waste and the benefits resulting from the consideration of aircraft 4D-function within ATC systems.

A specific emphasis will be put on the benefits associated to an individual aircraft.Means: use of Airbus laboratory tools (Short Term Conflict Detection, Traffic generator, Airbus Skywise data)

·  Interfaces

The trainee will interact with:

·  Coordinators of SESAR projects (PJ31 / DIGITS-AU) – within the ATM Programme team
·  Responsible of Airbus ATM laboratory
·  Staff in charge of TESLA product, from Airbus Defence and Space division
·  As far as possible, external ATM stakeholder, at least with ENAC staff.

For ATM features for which the benefits cannot be evaluated with TESLA (e.g. Respect of preferred Top of Descent, facilitation of Continuous Climb) the trainee will make a list of recommendations of enablers and suggestion, possibly validated by external ATM stakeholders.

Nota: ATM benefits related to Ground staff management and airspace capacity are not in the scope of the project. The Airbus ATM program is interfaced with Eurocontrol for which it is still possible to define elements if any.

·  Deliverables:

Based on the use of trajectory tools ( ex TESLA tool , EPP,.. ), the trainee will

Generate Statistical report evaluating the benefits, in terms of aircraft KPI (delay, fuel and emission reductions) resulting from the improvement of Conflict Detection function, according to the ratio of 4D-capable aircraft in the anticipated traffic.

The reports will point out the ATM waste area and benefits of the a 4D-capable aircraft as well as for non-4D-capable aircraft (in terms of statistics, the whole traffic should benefit from the global system improvement).

You are preparing a diploma level Bac+ 5 in Aeronautics or equivalent, with specialisation in Air Traffic Management. and you have following competences:

- English: ADVANCED

- French: ADVANCED

- You are interested in team working

- You have a good knowledge of.Air Traffic Operations

- Rigorous, curious and autonomous

- Good interpersonal and communication skills

- Able to integrate into team and be a flexible team player

- Have organizational skills

- Able to analyze and synthesize information

- Knowledge of project management would be a plus.

Depending on the specifics of the offer, you may have to travel to another locations.
