As Robotics Engineer R&T (m/f/d) in Airbus Commercial in Hamburg you will have the chance to explore and disseminate new technologies and innovations with the aim to feed production lines and final assembly lines efficiency thanks to robotic systems, smart production, data analytics, wearable robotics, surface protection and painting solutions. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting new technologies within aeronautics industry leader. Also you will mentor and train others to understand and leverage robotic principles and methods.

You will be in charge of the following activities:

·  Lead long term (from 3 to 5 years before entering into service) research and development of solutions in the areas of autonomous and sensor/vision-aided robotic systems.
·  Research complex perception, decision making, and control problems and develop solutions for customers across Airbus plants
·  Work closely with robotic development engineering teams to develop systems from concept to production level.
·  Collaborate with industry partners and top tier academia research institutes
·  Select components, software and equipment matching robotic strategy requirements based on analysis of specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements.
·  Develop clear & concise reports that include data analysis, interpretations, and recommendations.
·  Develop and execute autonomous and sensor/vision-aided robotic systems project plans including technical approach and project management to achieve reliable implementation in production.
·  Ensure R&T projects are delivered on quality, time and cost
·  Report project status to senior management
·  Train and mentor others on upfront robotic principles, techniques, methods and other functionally related topics.

What we expect from you:

·  A university degree in Robotics Engineering or a similar field of study
·  Significant experience in research and technology (ideally having a trace record in research laboratory) on robotics and industry 4.0 transformation technologies
·  Knowledge and experience with big data, data analytics and machine learning is a plus
·  Strong understanding of the challenges in aerospace manufacturing and Industry 4.0 transformation technologies
·  Effective decision-making capabilities with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate one
·  Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on the ability to effectively influence others, and a collaborative approach are a must.
·  A team-focused mentality with the proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
·  An ability to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in an easily-understood and actionable manner.
·  Business fluency in English
