The Fuel and Landing Gear Hydromechanical Test team forms part of the transnational 'Energy and Landing Gear' Sub-Domain (IVYP) within the Flight and Integration Test Centre (IV). IV tests the integration of the complete aircraft and this is reflected in our ways of working so you will interact and build relationships with colleagues across Europe and across the A/C Systems.

We are a product focused organisation with a history of delivering innovation to our company. As a team we conduct development testing of new aircraft systems through agile test methods, help to resolve in-service problems and provide design feedback for future aircraft.

Tasks:

You will contribute to the delivery of Fuel and Landing Gear Hydromechanical Test Team's mission and purpose that is:

·  Support systems verification through integrated rig testing and analysis
·  Establish and improve the maturity of systems under test through the collaboration with other engineering teams
·  React to and help resolve in-service system issues
·  Search for product safety beyond original requirements
·  Implement synergies and alignment between rig and flight test

Every day will present a new challenge with a variety of work spanning the complete product life cycle including:

·  Lab Test Requirements definition
·  Test bench design (mechanical and/or electrical and/or software) and build support
·  Validation and commissioning of test benches
·  System level testing of new fuel and landing gear functionality
·  In-service investigation by reproducing events on avionics benches
·  Preparing and presenting Lab Test Results Analysis
·  Use of big data analytics techniques to achieve cross-correlation between design, test rig and flight behaviour

Our  Internships are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

·  Studying towards a degree in Engineering or Science, particularly with a mechanical, aerospace or systems focus
·  Interest for fluid mechanics, hydraulics or pneumatics and enjoys mechanical design and build activities
·  Awareness of aircraft systems
·  Understanding of basic electronics
·  Knowledge or experience of Software creation/application (e.g. C, LabVIEW, Python, TCL, Matlab)
