Description of the job

You will join the Nose & Center Fuselage (NCF) and Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) engineering organization and be part of an integrated team having the global view on system definition and installation.

Within our team, you will have the opportunity to work on, amongst other things: Methods & Tools improvements, Design to Cost, Manufacturing and In-Service support.

The emergence of new technologies in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Simulation is transforming aircraft design and use. Your willingness to bring and concretize digital transformation (data modeling and /or simulation for design and manufacturing) applications to our company would make you a perfect match

More particularly you will be responsible for the development of new ways of working to make a better use of existing data, extracting the key elements that will allow Airbus to optimize their products.

From a technical perspective, you will support the definition of the most suitable solution to integrate systems on aircraft in respect with design directives.  

For its new development AIRBUS performs flight tests to certify its new aircraft or major modification. Flight Test Installation (FTI) community is one of the Airbus Engineering domain with the largest panel of activities.

Prepa and Configuration management activity is one of them and supports all programs and as well new developments, or research Technology.

FTI department is in charge to design how to install test equipments (sensors, acquisition unit, power generation, etc...) inside the prototype aircrafts.

In this environment, the FTI PREPA/CONF people are deployed in Toulouse and Hamburg. You will work in close collaboration with the German teams, to cover all airframe activities for all programs.

You will be in constant interaction with different FTI services (Program responsible, Test Specialist, IV Architects, Designers, …).

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.

Tasks & accountabilities

-       Analyze and validate all FT inputs to ensure the maturity for Flight Test Designers.

-       Coordinate and elaborate with FT department, the drawings deliveries.

-       Be responsible to allocate measurements on acquisition units, all sections, all programs

-       Improve databases in cooperation with different FT stakeholders.

-       Participate to software development.

-       Manage modification dedicated to the FTI from the beginning to the refurbishing (MOD Closure).

-       Coordinate MOD/MP, TRS and sub-TRS opening.

-       Participate in the different Change Board Meeting.

-       Be aligned with the Central Program

This role will involve some travels for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

You are graduated in a 5-year-degree in mecanics or a related discipline.

You are autonomous, curious and proactive.

You are open minded and synthetic with capability to step back from activities and propose new ideas.

You have the capability to face complex situations and take data driven-decisions by using data analytics or model-based system engineering platforms.
