Our UK Graduate Programme provides exceptional graduates the opportunity to master managerial and technical skills. Over the two year period it combines rotational placements with focused training and the possibility of European assignments as well as further personal development and the chance to build your professional network.

From day one, you will be assigned to a particular department and will be guided through the various placement opportunities that exist within your function, the wider business and even with customers and suppliers. This, along with training provided works to ensure you are ready and experienced enough to take the next step of your career following the programme's conclusion.

If successful you will be joining a high visibility, multicultural, sociable team of 20, who are part of a larger department of 100+. There is a strong ethos of knowledge sharing and collaboration within the department. You will be working with novel technologies and unique challenges, at the cutting edge of engineering, evolving and creating techniques and processes to address these challenges. You will be supported in undertaking person-specific technical training to improve your understanding of not only the thermal subsystem but the entire spacecraft system. The thermal analysis techniques you will learn will be used to inform and validate the design of the spacecraft.

Tasks

Main activities of the role may include;

·  Under supervision, complete and plan the thermal analyses and test activities to demonstrate achievement of thermal control system requirements
·  Broaden knowledge and experience of thermal analysis and test tasks as to apply analysis tools, methods and process
·  Modelling thermal analysis investigations and analysing results using MATLAB and Microsoft Excel.
·  Supporting the sizing of the thermal control system and performing design trade-offs.

Relevant degree disciplines:

·  At minimum, a 2:1 degree or equivalent qualification in Physics, Mechanical Engineering,  Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics or related subject.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

·  Experience of programming; e.g. FORTRAN, Python, JAVA, C++, C, C#, Visual Basic
·  Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and MATLAB, including advanced proficiency in Excel, ideally for the use of analysing results
·  Good problem solving and team working skills
·  Excellent presentation and written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
·  An interest in space is essential

This role will be based in Stevenage and will receive the full Airbus Defence & Space Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
