We are an exciting 24/7 reactive environment resourced by a world class group of Engineers supporting and assisting operators on technical matters related to the wings of In Service Airbus aircraft.

Within the role you will understand the whole aircraft repair process (metallic and / or composite). As a member of the integrated Repairs engineering team, in conjunction with the management team, ensure Airbus standards are maintained to meet Airworthiness requirements.

In conjunction with the other members of the mutli-disciplinary Outer Wing Repair team deliver technical answers or Repair design definitions with full authorisation to the customer. Typically the work will involve liaison with Fatigue & Damage Tolerance, Stress, Aerodynamics and Loads, but can also involve appropriate Airbus departments in Toulouse and Filton, to come up with practical design solutions for the airline customer/operator. This may include designing repairs for minor damage through to repairs for major damage, such as partial wing replacements.

Task & accountabilities :

During this internship, the activities you may undertake will include

·  Interrogate documentation systems relating to design, stress and fatigue content, raising and co-ordination of documentation, maintain active liaison with risk sharing partners to ensure optimised and integrated repair.
·  Understand the operational requirements of aircraft for customers and Maintenance and Repair organisations worldwide.
·  High quality, integrated and certificated engineering repair solutions are provided for the airline operators and other customers.
·  Create, compile and co-ordinate engineering documentation to achieve valid technical data for repairs.
·  All customers are effectively informed of and are satisfied with Repairs engineering performance.
·  In conjunction with the other members of the department, ensure its strategy, policy and directions are maintained to required Airworthiness requirements.

Our Internships are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

·   Be conversant with basic aircraft structure
·  Good interpersonal and communication skills
·  The ability to translate customer requirements into operational deliverables and prioritise.

Preferred Skills:

·   Working knowledge of Airbus structures
·  Demonstrated problem solving ability
·   Ability to create, compile and co-ordinate engineering documentation to achieve valid technical data for repairs
