Would you like to play an active role in one of Airbus key initiative?
The company-wide initiative “End-to-End Supply Chain Quality Boost” aims at improving the quality of our suppliers’ products, for the sake of improving the quality of the aircraft we deliver to our customers.

In this frame, the creation of extended enterprise Manufacturing Engineering for Systems & Equipment has been recognized as a key priority for Airbus.

In collaboration with Design Office and Supply Chain management, but as well with Equipment Supplier, the goal is to prevent and address quality escapes by concurrently assessing the Manufacturability of the Design and its Industrial implementation.

This is a new activity which is created, integrating an overall extended enterprise manufacturing engineering community. Technical challenges, where everything is to be built thanks to willingness to learn from and teach to others!

In this context, we are looking for an Electric Distribution Industrial Leader willing to join this new transnational team inside Engineering Systems for a position to be based in Toulouse, France.

Task & accountabilities :
The principle responsibilities of the role can be summarized as follows:

I/ As a Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Leader for Electric distribution Equipment, you will bring together:

• Key manufacturing technologies & process expertise,
• Product design intent & operational environment,
• Supplier detailed design,

to ensure the manufacturability and assess the manufacturing process at suppliers of the equipment, from industrial and operational point of views.

II/ You will work on full product life-cycle from preparation of supplier selection to in-service support:

• In call for tender by spotting industrial risks linked with the product and the supplier,
• In development phase by making design more easy to manufacture,
• In industrialization phase by ensuring it fits to the design intent,
• In serial to support issues resolution linked with manufacturing capability.

You will draw on the expertise of technology specialists and equipment experts when deeper analysis is needed.
This role will involve travels to supplier’s facilities and Airbus sites as such you must be able to travel accordingly (around twice a month).

• Experience in bridging Conception (detailed design) and Manufacturing (Design For Manufacture, key characteristics, PFMEA, assembly, ...).
• Proven understanding of Electric Distribution Equipment (Electrical Power Distribution Centers,... ) and components.
• Deep knowledge and experience in Manufacturing technologies processes, industrialization.
• Leadership skills to interface with external suppliers and Airbus representation.
• Willingness to learn from others, and learn to others.
• English negotiation level.
