Description of the job

Are you passionate about mechanical engineering and do you want to develop both your design and project management competences?

Then this could be the ideal role for you.

You will join the Nose & Center Fuselage (NCF) and Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) engineering organization and be part of an integrated team having the global view on aircraft system installation design and justifications for Single aisle program.

Within our team, you will have the opportunity to work on, amongst other things: Design Studies, Justification for Certification, Methods & Tools improvements, Weight saving, Design to Cost and Manufacturing support.

You will join a dynamic team, part of a multi-program plateau involved in a wide range of activities, systems and suppliers, from pre-design, development, modification, to manufacturing and in-service support ensuring that engineering definition allows airlines to operate our Aircraft.

Tasks & accountabilities

You will have also the opportunity to work in a multi-cultural and transnational environment, which is personally rewarding.

More particularly, your contribution will consist, amongst other things, in:

¤ Carring out technical coordination of the Defined Design Perimeter (daily exchanges with supplier and other skills, weekly reviews, Design Review meeting…)

¤ Monitoring and supporting Design and Build Supplier for systems installation (providing inputs, including CS25 regulation requirements, choice of stress methods, check and approval of different deliveries),

¤ Ensuring support to manufacturing and production plants

¤ Supporting configuration management and associated decisions (requesting and managing MODs)

¤ Defining governance of the relation with the supplier and proposing new way of working to improve efficiency and collaboration

¤ Supporting performance monitoring of the supplier in terms of On Time Delivery and Right First Time

¤ Ensuring alignment with other stakeholders (Electrical System Installation Design / Structure Design / Procurement / Program…)

¤ Providing support for contract updates 

¤ Supporting Multi-Function Team and procurement team to speak as one voice in front of supplier 

¤ Ensuring that Airbus « Ethics & Compliance » rules are respected

In parallel, the emergence of new technologies in data science, Artificial Intelligence and Advanced simulation is transforming aircraft design and use. Your willingness to bring and concretize digital transformation applications to our company would make you a perfect match.

This role will involve (some/frequent/extensive) travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

You are autonomous, curious and proactive.

You are open minded and synthetic with capability to step back from activities and propose new ideas.

You have the capability to face complex situations and take data driven-decisions by using data analytics or model-based system engineering platforms.

You have studied Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
