Job Description

Our internships give a unique insight into potential career paths within Airbus. They are designed so that you can put your theoretical knowledge into practice and gain crucial industry experience. The knowledge you gain will improve your chances of a future role within the Airbus and should benefit your future studies.

You will work at Airbus’ Filton facility near Bristol and have an active role to contribute to the successful manufacture of some of Airbus’ newest developments such as the A400M and A350. As an essential Airbus production facility Filton completes the assembly of the A400M Wing, the A350 Equipped Gear Beam and leads the way with hard metal Additive Manufacturing for aircraft detailed parts.

As a production facility Filton relies on an integrated multi-functional team to achieve the customers’ expectations. The team includes Programme Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Finance, Logistics, Quality, Engineering and Procurement functions, all of which you can expect to work with regularly.

As a member of the team you will lead several essential projects that provide a significant benefit to the Filton facility and to the profitability of Airbus. These projects could include modifying the industrial process, implementing new digital solutions or maybe the introduction of a new product line.

Tasks:

During this internship, the activities you may undertake will include;

·  Developing solutions
·  Benchmarking
·  Scoping or evaluating new project ideas
·  Case developments
·  Project planning, monitoring and reporting
·  Leading and or being a member of a multi-function team
·  Prepare and present regular progress reports
·  Managing Risks and Opportunities
·  Managing stakeholders

Please note our Internships are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

·  Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage yourself and others will be needed to deliver success
·  Understand Airbus’ manufacturing system, how it functions and performs and how our decisions effects the profitability of the system as a whole.
·  You can develop and demonstrate your ability to manage and lead teams of people and provide creative projects that follow Time, Cost and Quality requirements.
