TELECARE RESPONDER

HAVERING

MONDAY- FRIDAY 7AM- 7PM (36 HRS) - ROTA BASIS

3 MONTH ASSIGNMENT (POSSIBILITY OF BEING EXTENDED)

£13.45 HOURLY RATE (PAYE)

IMMEDIATE START

JOB PURPOSE:

To respond to Careline and Telecare alarm calls by attending the location of the alarm and resolving the incident or issue, working on a rota operating on a 24/7 365 day per year basis and operating in accordance with the relevant Telecare Services Association Code of Practice standards and local policies and procedures. To participate in the growth of the service through responding to enquiries and liaising with customers including demonstrating equipment, providing training to service users and attending events and meetings to raise awareness of the service

MAIN DUTIES:

·  Respond to emergency calls received through the control centre for Careline and Telecare alarms, by visiting the service user's location and gaining access to dwellings to assist. To carry out necessary first aid and co-ordinate the appropriate emergency and/or welfare response

·  Attending to people in their own homes or other locations who are in distress, for example, they have fallen over, or have suddenly taken ill

·  To participate in a programme of periodical checks on the serviceability of equipment and provide service users with any relevant training in the use of equipment

·  To assist service users to understand and complete the relevant registration documents in respect of the provision of the alarm service, including those related to payment and to assist with the resolution of any payment issues raised to control outstanding debt levels, including referral to, and liaison with, other services.

·  To advise service users of other services which may be of benefit to them, and, where applicable, initiate referral to other services with the agreement of the service user.

·  To ensure that all relevant service user data is accurately entered on the relevant systems, in a timely manner, including risk assessments

·  To undertake assessments of risk to service users, staff and members of the public in relation to a service

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:

·  Must hold, or being willing to obtain, the appropriate First Aid qualification

·  Have experience working in a front facing team interviewing and assessing clients need for assistance

·  Experience of personally responding to emergency calls from members of the public

·  Experience of providing services directly to older, frail and/or vulnerable people, preferably in their own homes

·  Experience of explaining information is a clear way to older, frail and/or vulnerable people

·  Experience of recording keeping in an environment with much confidential and sensitive information

·  Able to demonstrate excellent care customer, particularly with regard to older and/or disabled people at times of distress

·  DRIVING LICENCE AND USE OF OWN VEHICLE OR POOL CAR
