Summary

Responsible for the creation of technical documentation relating to the design process. Will generate ILS data and documentation such as MTBF, FMECA, maintainability documents, risk analysis etc

The ILS Engineer and Technical Writer will require a strong engineering background, an excellent understanding of design and manufacturing processes and experience of writing technical documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities

·  Work closely with Mechanical and Electronic Engineers at the Design label, taking ownership of technical documentation relating to the design process

·  Input to equipment level requirements analysis and acceptance

·  Generation of ILS data and documentation such as MTBF, FMECA, Risk Analysis etc

·  Understand the different stages of the design process and work with Engineering on document updates when required and using DCR/Document change process

·  Create and/or correct BOMs

·  Ensure the rationale throughout all documentation is clear and correct, ensure revisions are up to date

Qualifications / Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline (B.Eng/BSC/MechEng etc)

Background in Engineering or Manufacturing

Additional Skills

·  Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline

·  Previous experience in Technical writing in an engineering or manufacturing environment

·  Ability to rapidly assimilate and deal with technical complexity and liase with all levels of engineering/manufacturing team

·  Able to understand and review technical drawings

·  Highly organised, logical and methodical with excellent attention to detail

·  Ability to demonstrate a self motivated and highly organised approach to work

·  Experience of working with minimal supervision and taking ownership of documentation

·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
