We are recruiting a Resident Assistant for a University based in Central London. This role is paying £10.55 and is currently until the end of September 2020. You will be working on a rota system Monday to Sunday with the latest shift finishing at 10pm. You will be working between 4 - 5 shifts per week.

To provide an efficient, professional and friendly service for term time and vacation residents and visitors.

To ensure that all aspects of reception run smoothly.

To play an active role in the maintaining of log books/spreadsheets.

To have a full working knowledge of relevant computer packages.

To liaise with other departments in the residence and within School.

To be aware of and help enforce the rules and regulations within the residence.

Knowledge and Experience

To have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Front of House software system (training provided as needed).

To provide an efficient, professional & friendly reception service for both term time & vacation periods, in a busy customer service environment.

To ensure that all aspects of reception run smoothly including dealing with enquiries, answering phones, dealing with mail.

To be aware of all safety and communication systems within the residence.

Liaison and Networking

To liaise with all staff, and departments both within the Residence, Division and School.

To demonstrate good customer service skills, and establish strong working relationships with colleagues with the ability to demonstrate a friendly and welcoming manner to guests.

To record requests for maintenance, cleaning ensuring this information is passed onto the correct department.

To be able to take fees/payments, receipting and basic reconciling of own transactions as per procedure.

To keep all log books/spreadsheets up to-date including issuing of keys to residents, contractors, etc.

To be able to sort and distribute mail as necessary.

To handle general office correspondence.

To be able to print set reports as and when required related to hall activities.

To work to agreed standards and organise work in an efficient way.

To assist the Division with any promotional events/requirements, for example formatting posters based on a pro forma template.

To be able to contribute to the team as a whole.

To make a positive contribution to the social environment of the residence and attend meetings and training courses as required.

To act on supervisors instructions, referring issues to them where appropriate and actively contributing to the team. Initiative and problem

Assist in checking room inventories when guests arrive or leave and to inform others of any discrepancies.

To support local energy saving initiatives and the end of year re-use scheme  To ensure compliance with health and safety policies in respect of fire safety and evacuation, serious accident, external threat or any other security alert. Work environment  To ensure that reception is a welcoming and safe environment for staff and visitors.  To report any problems those make it difficult for you to carry out your work effectively.

Work in a revolving shift pattern (Monday to Sunday) .
