Summary
Reporting to the Group Quality Manager the Lead Quality Assurance Engineer will manage all aspects of Quality as they relate to the business. This includes quality procedures, processes, programs, and practices to assure the continuous conformance with appropriate standards and regulations. The role is very much 'hands - on' getting fully involved in producing internal and external documentation to satisfy the requirements of our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Oversee the continued implementation and improvement of the Quality System and assure compliance to standards
· Report on the performance pf the system and promote awareness of customer requirements as appropriate
· Provide support as Quality lead on design and development contracts (throughout the life cycle) with large OEM customers (e.g. Boeing / Airbus / Gulfstream)
· Perform regular supplier audits to promote continuous improvement
· Review Non-conformance date ensuring these are documented properly and identify root cause and appropriate corrective and preventative actions
· Analyse returns data to identify failure trends and quality issues and prepare the associated statistical reports for management to act upon
· Provide input to Design and Development and Production Departments to assist in the development of products, assuring that regulatory and customer performance specifications are observed and included
· Plan, control, review and document verification and validation testing in order to demonstration that the product definition meets the specification for all identifies operational conditions.
· Manage first article inspection to verify the production process, documentation and tooling are capable of producing parts that meet specified requirements
· Support the Group Quality Manager in the motivating, training and development of Quality staff, according to company policy and practice, to ensure strategic and individual goals are attainable.
Qualifications / Experience
· Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with at least two years' experience in a Quality Engineering / Manufacturing Environment
· Formal Qualifications in Quality Assurance management
· Knowledge and practical experience of ISO 9001, AS9100
· An understanding of EASA Part 21G requirements
