JOB TITLE: Project Coordinator
LOCATION: Romford, Essex
PAY RATE: £30 per hour
START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: 3 months minimum
IR35 STATUS: Inside

ROLE PURPOSE

To provide effective project management support to the Sustainable Communities programme and the projects being undertaken within it; with responsibility for the Community Hub project ensuring effective stakeholder engagement working with operational staff, customers, communities and other stakeholders.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

General
* To work seamlessly across departments in a collaborative and constructive manner to implement the Sustainable Communities programme.
* To demonstrate a commitment to customer service excellence and deliver against the requirements and the Programme's governance and values/behaviours framework.
* To work within policies and procedures at all times.

Role specific
* Support the creation of project plans for the Community Hubs project and other projects which fall under the Sustainable Communities programme.
* Maintain project plans, risk and issues logs ensuring actions are completed to deadline, reporting to the Project/Programme Manager and steering group/project board on any overdue or delayed outcomes.
* Organise project management and stakeholder events and meetings in a supporting role to record actions and update project plans and risk logs as required.
* Produce progress reports for the Project/Programme Manager as required.
* Support the preparation of presentation of events using relevant software.
* Support the organisation and delivery of internal and external events as required.
* Liaise and engage with stakeholders including; community partners, other councils and voluntary organisations as relevant.
* General administrative and project work that supports the smooth running of the Sustainable Communities Programme.
* Carry out desk-based research to help inform research priorities and policy development.
* Working with relevant service areas and other areas of the transformation team to ensure dependencies are raised and understood.
* Gather relevant information, such as objectives, criteria, deadlines and presenting them to relevant council officers and stakeholders.
* Keeping and updating a comprehensive database of all external contacts and stakeholders.
* Any other duties that are commensurate with the role and the function of the role.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

·  Community development and stakeholder engagement skills

·  Experience of providing support within a project and programme environment.

·  Highly organised, self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.

·  Ability to prioritise and plan, balancing priorities and deadlines

·  Strong understanding and experience of using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.

·  Excellent communication (verbal, written, listening) and interpersonal skills.

·  Experience of developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

·  Ability to produce clear and concise minutes of project meetings.

·  Ability to work as part of a team.

·  Flexible approach to work with a focus on delivery to deadlines.

·  Analytical skill and attention to detail; self-starting and strong focus on completing/finishing.

·  Demonstrable problem solving skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.

·  A self starter, able to act autonomously, within broad guidelines and direction, with a demonstrated ability to focus on delivery, taking responsibility and accountability for pace and quality of outcomes.

Qualifications

·  Knowledge of best practice and methods including project management

·  Numeracy to at least GCSE standard would be helpful.
