Programme Coordinator

Our client, based in higher education are looking to recruit a Programme Coordinator to be responsible for assisting with the coordination of an effective and efficient service to the Management suite of programmes, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the modules throughout the academic year.

The post-holder is required to work flexibly in order to meet service delivery and customer service requirements. The post-holder is expected to routinely evaluate procedures and proactively suggest operating and strategic improvements.

Job Description:

·  Work with the Programme Managers and the Educational Technology Lab to compile and upload module materials to the student Communications Hub, ensuring that module materials are of an appropriate quality.

·  Collect welcome messages and photos for lecturers/visiting lecturers in each Hub module area.

·  Create module reading lists and liaise with the Library to ensure reading materials are linked to the Hub each term, obtaining copyright permissions where necessary.

·  Order case studies and update Publishing usage report as required for each module.

·  Be responsible for coursework submission on the Hub including creating coursework submission areas, quizzes, peer review surveys, monitoring student submissions, and following up with students where necessary.

·  Liaise with academics and Teaching Assistants to ensure that coursework is marked to agreed deadlines.

·  Collate coursework and project samples for the Exams and Teaching and Quality Teams.

·  Be responsible for the collation and recording of coursework marks.

·  Organise SSC meetings and produce minutes.

·  Support the day-to-day running of the programmes including answering emails, monitoring and maintaining the communication flow on the Hub, speaking with students, and being the "logistical expert" for all details of the programmes.

·  Be responsible for resolving a wide variety of student problems arising throughout the year.

·  Attend necessary School-wide meetings and programme team meetings as requested by the manager.

·  Write transcript letters for students as requested and assist faculty in writing reference letters.

Skills/Experience:

Essential

·  Excellent IT skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

·  Experience/knowledge of social networking.

·  Good problem-solving skills; a creative approach with the ability to develop new idea.

·  Experience of working effectively within a team.

·  Proven ability to use initiative and work without supervision.

·  Able to produce work to a consistently high standard with tight deadlines.

·  Able to understand the importance of confidentiality and to ensure that confidentiality is maintained.

·  Flexible and versatile.

·  Excellent organisational skills.

Desirable

·  Experience of working in office administration, ideally within Higher Education.

·  Experience/knowledge of working with a VLE is desirable.
