Payroll Officer

Adecco are looking to recruit a Payroll Officer for our client based in Wednesbury. You will be required to process the payroll in a timely and accurate manner. Create and maintain employees' payroll records. Calculate wages and applicable deductions based on employee attendance and timesheet records. Enter payroll information into central system for processing and issue employee checks and earnings summaries.

Payroll Job Duties:

·  Process company's payroll every pay period

·  Maintain payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data

·  Compute employee take-home pay based on time records, benefits, and taxes

·  Answer staff questions about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records

·  Receive and coordinate requests for leave and other absences

·  Handle changes in exemptions, job status, and job titles

·  Adhere to payroll policies and procedures and comply with relevant law

·  Identify, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records

·  Honour confidentiality of employees' pay records

·  Complete payroll reports for record-keeping purposes or managerial review

·  Determine organisation's tax obligations by calculating national and council taxes as well as National Insurance contributions

·  Performs the distribution of wages through issuance of paper checks or direct transfers to employees' bank accounts

Payroll Job Skills and Qualifications:

� Experience in Pegasus Opera ERP is desirable

� Excellent Mathematical Skills

� Accounting and Bookkeeping Skills

� Attention to Detail

� Organisation Skills

� Superior Computer and Typing Skills and Data Entry

� Good Verbal Communication with Employees

� Honesty, Record-Keeping Skills

� Familiar with Payroll Software, Basic Understanding of Tax Procedures, Familiarity with Benefits and Other Wage Deductions

� Multi-Tasking Abilities, Ability to Work on a Deadline, Sound Decision-Making Skills
