JOB TITLE: Parking Design Engineer
LOCATION: Newham, London
PAY RATE: £30 per hour (Umbrella)
DURATION: 6 months
START DATE: ASAP
IR35 STATUS: Inside

OVERVIEW:

To plan, develop and deliver Parking Design Schemes and Services within the Traffic & Transportation Group.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

·  To be responsible for the planning, development and delivery of various parking and highways schemes within the Highways & Traffic Group of Environmental Services.

·  To work as part of the Parking Design Team, identifying and progressing parking and highways schemes to implementation (either as free-standing proposals or in conjunction with other engineering schemes) to help reduce congestion, improve road safety and to enhance the environment.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE:

·  A high level of knowledge and understanding of Parking schemes and / or Traffic Management schemes. Experience of drafting and processing of traffic management orders and related statutory notices under the various sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and other relevant legislation.

·  To have obtained three years post qualification experience in design and construction of highways Schemes.

·  Detailed knowledge of design codes and specifications (DMRB / MCDHW etc) relevant to highway engineering.

·  Knowledge of the HA procedures necessary to deliver a Highways project

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

·  Ability to undertake feasibility studies, initial and detailed designs

·  Ability to undertake estimates including evaluation, costings and working to pre-defined budgets

·  Articulate both in written and oral form

·  Ability to manage capital and revenue projects

·  Ability to manage budget lines

·  Ability to manage staff
