Microbiologist / Analyst - Mid Devon

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Microbiologist to join an international company at the mid Devon site.

Working within a strong Quality Control team, the primary function is to enable finished product batches to be both packed and then released to market following successful completion of testing requirements, to registered finished product specifications as appropriate and are responsible for the stability testing of products.

The Microbiologist / Analyst will split their time between Raw Materials and the Micro Laboratory.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Testing of raw materials prior to use or the periodic review of finished product to establish microbiological quality.
* Microbiological Testing to support new projects and stability.
* Environmental and equipment monitoring as detailed in the PEM/Non PEM hygienic monitoring programme.
* Ensure all testing equipment used is calibrated according to stated Calibration Programme for both Micro and Raw Materials.
* Preparation and submission of periodic reports on the microbiological status of products, raw materials, environment and equipment - trend card review.
* Ensuring that relevant working documentation (SOPs or Work Instructions) required for both areas is accurate and in date.
* Ensuring that the QC Microbiology laboratory and Raw Materials lab is kept in a clean and tidy condition.
* to execute with minimal supervision scheduled primary tasks according to the regulatory, statutory, or client defined standards/ requirements applicable using equipment, materials and methodology as detailed in the Raw Materials Checking and Testing Record (RMCTR) or as detailed in Micro Lab SOP 11.38 Microbiology Department Procedures.
* To identify any OOS/OOT results and to notify the line manager in a suitable time frame and with appropriate actions following the documented process to address the issue.
* To capture and record any data generated in appropriate format and within suitable time frame.
You will also ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety systems and legislation applicable to the working environment. Analyst to comply with all appropriate EJ defined Quality systems, processes and procedures. And, any other duties considered to be reasonable by QC line management.

QUALIFICATIONS
* Degree level or BS/MS in Biology or Science
* A levels / HNC (A - C pass) in Chemistry and Math's
* Demonstrable aptitude in core skills relevant to the role
* Demonstrable ability to deliver against agreed objectives and timelines
