SHIFT WORK (7AM- 7PM OR 7PM- 7AM)
6 MONTH ASSIGNMENT (POSSIBILITY OF BEING EXTENDED)
£14.57 HOURLY RATE
IMMEDIATE START
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To provide the Community Alarm, Telecare and emergency service to vulnerable Sheltered Housing tenants and Borough Residents and also answering the emergency out of hours phone line.
MAIN DUTIES:
· To staff the call answering system, respond to calls in an appropriate manner to meet the caller's needs and record the nature of each call
· To respond to emergencies as necessary, helping distressed clients and summoning assistance where required.
· To maintain and amend records of clients, including details of GP, next of kin, and update information on call answering system and manual files.
· To visit clients in response to emergencies, or as directed to monitor their general well-being
· To liaise with clients' NOK, GPs, social workers, other staff and outside agencies as necessary
· Make routine calls to clients to check on their well-being as required
· Monitor and record weekly fire alarm tests of the Sheltered Schemes.
· Report all systems and equipment faults to the appropriate contractor or Department.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
· Experience of working with older people in a related field for instance Housing, Social Services, personal care
· Knowledge of statutory and voluntary services for vulnerable older people.
· A good understanding of IT systems and ability to use these within the role, including Call Handling systems
· Understands the confidentiality of the role and the needs of vulnerable older people
· A commitment to the highest standards of customer service.
· At all times respects confidentiality and the dignity of others
Must possess a current valid full driving licence
