1.
First point of contact for helpdesk and phone queries relating to learning technology, liaising with students, academic staff and other University departments. Ensure issues are followed up appropriately, keeping records of queries and resolutions.
2.
Deliver staff and student inductions to the Blackboard VLE and the learning technology solutions available at the University.
3.
Carry out Blackboard testing and auditing, assisting the team with VLE upgrades and undertaking testing of functionality of new Blackboard tools.
4.
Responsible for communication with staff and students across the University to ensure consistency of information provided regarding Blackboard, learning technology, and other Academic and Educational Developments (AED) projects.
5.
Create documentation, help sheets and video guides to support staff and students in their use of Blackboard and learning technologies.
6.
Provide advice and training to staff to help them identify Blackboard features and learning technology tools appropriate to their needs.
7.
Aid with designing, planning and organising online resources, including interactive learning materials, screen captures and graphics for teaching staff, tailored to the needs of the students on their modules.
8.
Liaise with colleagues in the Academic and Educational Developments department and professional services staff to aid the development of departmental areas on Blackboard and uses of learning technology.
9.
Work with colleagues to ensure content on Blackboard is accessible to all, to ensure compliance with institutional policy.
10.
Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of Blackboard and associated technologies, using appropriate qualitative and quantitative data, providing updates as required. Compilation of statistics and other relevant information for Academic and Educational Developments department reports as requested.
11.
Provide general administrative support for the Learning Technology team and Academic and Educational Developments department as required, such as organising meetings, updating intranet pages, creating purchase orders, booking staff development activities etc.

Participate in relevant departmental projects that may be required by line manager, Learning Services Manager and Head of Academic and Educational Developments.

Degree or equivalent experience
Qualification in e-learning, multimedia, computer science or similar
Evidence of delivering training
EXPERIENCE
Experience of computer based administration
Experience of providing technical support to staff and students in an educational environment
Experience of using technology to enhance teaching and learning
Experience of writing reports, documentation and user guides
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Effective presentation skills and excellent spoken and written English
Excellent general IT skills including use of standard Microsoft Office software
Knowledge of and enthusiasm about learning technologies
