JOB TITLE: Information Support Officer
LOCATION: Croydon, London
PAY RATE: £21 PAYE / £27 Umbrella per hour
START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: 12 weeks minimum
IR35 STATUS: Inside

PURPOSE:

Acting as the main contact for members of the public who make requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 or Data Protection Act 1998. As a co-ordinator, this role ensures that all FOI requests are accurately and fully recorded onto the FOI database and tracks their progress and responded to, ensuring deadlines are met. The role is also a key liaison with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Administration, chasing, assisting council officers in drafting and sending FOI responses

·  Considering whether any exemptions apply in conjunction with officer

·  Administration of SAR's requests

·  Applying exemptions where necessary/applicable

·  Chasing and collating responses to SAR's requests

·  Checking documents and data sent by the client department

·  Redacting information where required

Experience required:

·  Previous use of CRM and/or case management systems would be useful

·  Good working knowledge of all Microsoft packages

·  Sufficient understanding of the Freedom of Information Act (2000) and the Data Protection Act (1998)

·  Good working knowledge of web development software, such as Front Page

·  Good knowledge of working in a customer service environment

·  Able to acquire an understanding of the broader operating context of the Council

·  Evidence of ongoing and relevant professional development
