Higher Education Administrator

Our client, are looking to recruit a higher education administrator to support the Education Manager and Postgraduate Education Co-coordinator in delivering comprehensive high-level administrative support for the on-campus postgraduate courses within the School of Public Health.

·  Location: Central London

·  Pay: £17.39 per hour

·  Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

·  Start Date: ASAP

·  Duration: 2 Months Initially, possibly up to 5 months

Job Description

·  Respond to enquiries and send out appropriate information to potential postgraduate Master's applicants.

·  Follow up on candidates who are offered a place, ensuring all admission criteria are met and deposits.

·  Assist with the organisation of any virtual/online recruitment/admissions activities.

·  Request and collate information from module leads/teaching fellows to update programme information for each term/year, including the handbooks, and other related teaching material.

·  Assist in organising the induction of new students.

·  Assist with the collection and collation of student feedback results, and assist in promotional activities.

·  Assist with the organisation, planning and preparation of all programme assessments with module leaders, teaching fellows, students, exam board members and external examiners.

·  Assist with marking arrangements for assessment, ensuring accurate records are maintained.

·  Assist with exams and preparation of exam papers/questions, invigilation, including communicating information to external examiners.

·  Assist the Teaching Fellows/Course Directors in collating Research Project information and updating the relevant documents for students.

·  Assist with setting up and arranging examination board meetings, including taking minutes.

·  Maintain an efficient record system for student details.

·  Maintain office supplies and place orders/raise purchase orders for other goods/services required by the Education Team for PG related activities/events.

·  Assist in the organisation of meetings and events.

·  Responsible for room bookings for teaching meetings.

·  Update the School website and promotional material in liaison with relevant staff.

Skills/Experience

Essential

·  Experience of administrative work within an Education setting

·  Experience of taking minutes/notes of meetings

·  Successful experience in a similar post providing teaching/student support

·  Excellent organisational skills, good time management and ability to work to deadline

·  Ability to use initiative, work independently with minimum supervision and demonstrate a proactive approach

·  Proven expertise in the use of spreadsheet programmes, preferably Microsoft Excel

·  Ability to communicate well with people at all levels and develop effective working relationships

·  Ability to make informed decisions and take responsibility

·  Ability to handle highly confidential information with tact and discretion
