Adecco are currently recruiting for a HGV/PCV Mechanic to work for a Local Authority in Wandsworth.

HGV/PCV Mechanic

Wandsworth

Full time - 36 hours per week

Temporary role - 3 months minimum

Rate: up to £30 per hour Umbrella (depending on experience)

Our Public Sector client is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic who will be required to carry out routine maintenance on Councils Fleet of Trucks and Buses as well as prepare and present vehicles to MOT in accordance to DVSA standards. Ideally, the succesful candidate will hold a current Category C or D driving licence with a valid DQC and drivers card.

Role duties:

·  To maintain , inspect, repair Wandsworth Councils and external customers vehicles and /or plant and equipment to prescribed standards in accordance with DVSA , manufacturer and the Councils Operator licence.

·  HGV/PCV Mechanic to maintain, inspect and repair Wandsworth Councils and external customers vehicles.

·  Prepare, present and accompany all HGV/PCV vehicles for annual MOT inspections.

·  Carry out periodic safety inspections to all HGV/PCV vehicles to DVSA inspection manual standards.

·  Carry out fault diagnosis on complex hydraulic , pneumatic and electrical systems.

·  To attend broken down or accident damaged vehicles and effect permanent or running repairs as required.

·  To prepare and decommission vehicles. Fitting and removing a diverse range of ancillary equipment and livery.

·  To complete associated paperwork to ensure that statistics and legal information are produced.

·  To ensure that all relevant legislation and Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.

·  To maintain work areas in a safe and clean condition.
