Purpose of Job:

Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer

The ideal candidate is a passionate, self-motivated, and detail-oriented team player who is committed to producing top quality work every time. This individual will be responsible for the design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating and process improvement of products. You will need strong technical knowledge, as well as problem solving, communication, leadership and project management skills.

General:

·  Technical lead for key customer accounts.

·  Take ownership of new projects from Customer Spec. through to production.

·  Optimise existing volume products focusing on Design for Manufacture, reduced material cost and improved performance.

·  Ensure that all products are designed in accordance with customer requirements, company practice and recognised engineering standards.

·  Generate GA's, detail drawings and BoMs.

·  To collaborate fully with Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Purchasing, Quality and if appropriate the Project Manager on new product launches.

·  Investigating and approving Concessions & 1 st offs.

·  Raise DCRs (Design Change Requests) driving engineering change through the company.

·  Bill of Material Validation - Inspecting, highlighting, investigating and correcting anomalies in Product BoM's.

·  Work seamlessly with Application Engineer to develop and produce prototypes.

·  Coordinate with Test Department to specify and if necessary design test equipment.

·  Any other reasonable duties, as requested by your manager including domestic and foreign travel on company business.

Person Specification:

·  Previous experience in a Senior Design Engineer role.

·  Broad knowledge and expertise of Engineering.

·  Experience of castings, mouldings, machined components and assembly techniques.

·  Knowledge of lathes and milling machine tolerances / capabilities.

·  Knowledge of modern design, development techniques and best practice.

·  Excellent communication, numerical and problem solving skills.

Desirable:

·  Degree qualified in Mechanical / Electro mechanical

·  Experience using Solidworks & Solidworks EPDM - EPDM Training available

·  Experience in designing gearboxes and/or motors.

·  Priority 17 or similar Manufacturing ERP system.

·  Experience using Kiss Soft Gear Design software - Training available
