We are currently recruiting a time served electrical crafts person to join our client based in Swansea on ongoing contract.

Candidate must be a time served and a recognised electrical apprenticeship program. The candidate must have also attended a technical college or further education establishment and gained a recognised qualification in the field of electrical engineering or control engineering.

Qualifications and experience: Minimum of ONC or BTEC certificate in electrical engineering or a related discipline. HNC in electrical engineering or control engineering would be desirable. Preferred 5 years post apprenticeship experience within their trade discipline in an industrial environment

Duties: Provide technical support and break down assistance to production areas within the factory. Role will include the identification, diagnosis and repair of faults in electrical, instrument, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. The candidate must have the ability to develop a solution to prevent re occurrence of a fault.

The Candidate must have an in-depth knowledge of PLC controlled automated machinery, (Allen Bradley preferred or Siemens) and modern drive control systems, (Eurotherm / SSD preferred and Lenze).

To provide factory-based maintenance support and to carry out routine maintenance procedures for production machinery within the factory. The candidate must be able to carry out work to the required standards and the ability to work to a preventative maintenance program. The candidate would be expected to develop skills (i.e. PC literacy, data analysis, project management) and support initiatives such as PM Fiori, lean, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), etc.

To work a shift pattern as part of a 24-hour, 7-day maintenance & production team and to liaise with production teams to ensure factory productivity targets and challenges are reached.

To provide technical support and guidance to allied trades to ensure the safety and integrity of all machinery and systems within the factory. The candidate must carry out all work required to an acceptable standard and to ensure the safety requirements of the company are upheld.

The candidate would be trained to run plant production machinery, carry out quality testing, drive a forklift truck and operate plant-based information systems, to provide coverage if required, as part of a Lean production team.

The Candidate must be able to work with company apprentices and engineering students such that technical knowledge is passed on to the trainee. Also, they must provide Designated Representative (DR) coverage for contractor control when needed.

Person Profile: Must be self-motivated and capable of working effectively within a team and representing maintenance interest within the wider business role.

·  Respected by peer group for high level of ability in their trade, demonstrated by developing higher standards.

·  Must possess a strong proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset in order to work effectively within a group or on their own initiative.

Temporary contract , ongoing (Minimum 1 year contract)

Salary £20.42 inclusive of shift allowance
