Adecco have an exciting role in today for a Electrical or Mechanical Operations Engineer to join our local client in South Ayrshire on a permanent basis.

Our client manufactures to the highest standards in the industry and you will be responsible for safeguarding the reputation, products and customers. As the Senior Operations Engineer you will oversee all of the 24/7 operations ion site. You will need to be capable of taking the initiative and making often difficult engineering decisions under pressure.

You will have many responsibilities, some will include:

·  Plan, organise, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed site & budget KPI expectations

·  Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimising unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards

·  Responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping of products

·  Develop new or modify existing processes, procedures, structures and / or strategies, together with having the ability to confidently present these to senior leadership team and roll out within the business

·  Lead person for lean phase continuous improvement & root cause analysis on site

·  Share a trusting relationship with workforce, Director level and manage and develop workforce through skills & EHS based training

·  Commit to all plant safety procedures and strive for best in class

·  Line Management duties inclusive of appraisals, shift rotas, occupational health, training, recruitment & address employee issues or grievances

·  Drive excellence with respect to latest industry production & quality management best practices, concepts & technologies

·  Drive engineering strategy on site, in terms of preventive maintenance, analyst and reporting, planning & scheduling, store's inventory, cost control and maintenance facilities

·  Act as role model for site employees, in terms of hard work ethic, passion and drive for success

·  Minimum 5 years post graduate experience

To be considered you must have the following:

·  Mechanical or Chemical Engineering discipline

·  Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes

·  Computer literacy

·  University degree level qualification

·  Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills

·  Proven leadership ability of multi-disciplined team

·  Performance review and development of employees with basic knowledge of HR / legal

·  NEEBOSH preferred but not essential and IOSH Managing safety trained or equivalent

·  Proven leadership role & experience with manufacturing or engineering business

·  Working within lean manufacturing environment, with proven experience of continuous improvement

·  Problem solving / can-do approach

·  Experience of managing cost and commercial aspects of the business including financial reporting
