An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer to join a public sector organisation based in East London.

The role is responsible for the management of electrical equipment and assets within the organisation and providing expert advice, as well as ensuring that the organisation is meeting its statutory duties in relation to these assets. The role also involves writing specifications for electrical works, tendering and all contract administration duties including financial. Work will include, but not confined to, major and minor maintenance, refurbishment and alterations, small extensions and new build.

The most suitable applicant will have an HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a relevant other qualification and be a member of a relevant professional institution, e.g. IEE.

Key duties will include:

·  Delivery of electrical repairs, maintenance and new build works to My Place assets. This will include school buildings, commercial property which is leased out by the organisation, as well as housing stock

·  Lead and coordinate emergency situations which are related to electrical equipment and maintenance and participate in emergency call out duty with other staff

·  Support Electrical Maintenance and Street Lighting Contracts, including renewal and developments by acting as the in-house expert

·  Contribute to the asset management strategy, including preparation/evaluation of investment options, cost modelling and work programmes, and providing estimates for the completion of works

·  Carry out inspections and surveys of electrical installations and make recommendations based on findings

·  Write specifications for electrical works, tender for the works and carry out all contract administration duties

·  Undertake electrical buildings services, plant, equipment and systems related survey works, inspections and subsequent reporting. This includes carrying out comprehensive surveys, as well as advising on, specifying and preparing planned and cyclical maintenance programmes for built assets. It also includes preparing detailed schedules of works, feasibility studies and cost estimates

·  Manage the production of programmes for routine and non-routine maintenance works
