This is an exciting opportunity to join our client as a Direct Payment Officer based in the area of Richmond

Start date: ASAP
Hours: Full Time Mon to Fri (09:00:AM - 05:00:PM)
Salary: £14.20 PAYE
3 Months

Accurate processing for payment of invoices. This includes managing individual workloads, and taking responsibility for investigating disputed or problematic invoices.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

·  Makes payments in accordance with Corporate, Audit and Departmental Guidelines.

·  Follows relevant Council and Departmental financial and administrative polices, controls and procedures.

·  Processes scheduled payments, ensuring the schedules are kept up to date and accurate, and any overpayments are minimised and immediately recovered.

·  Investigates and resolves payments issues and disputes, including liaising with service providers and other staff and teams within the Department.

·  Checks invoice details against commitment details, ensuring accurate invoices are processed in a timely way, and any invoices not matched to commitments are immediately investigated.

·  Assists with the testing of payments systems, including changes being implemented and the introduction of new systems.

·  Assists in keeping the Department's client database and main source of financial commitments and related information up to date with correct fee rates and contract unit costs.
